Exchange Student – Italy has come to Burroughs! Burroughs is very fortunate to have a new Italian exchange student with us for the spring semester. Please make an effort to meet Lisa Bianchi. Lisa is very friendly and is fluent in English. She is eager to make new friends. So seek her out! Invite her to join you for lunch. You will be delighted that you did!


KOH Dance Tickets – KOH Dance tickets will be sold in the Finance Office starting today during student hours, which are before school, during lunch and after school. The price will be $15 with ASB card and $20 without. You must have your student photo ID and Library fees cleared and no more than 4 demerits to buy your tickets. ID’s are required to get into the dance! Prices increase by $5 beginning on Monday, January 27 and again on Thursday, January 30. No tickets will be sold on Friday, January 31.


CSF – CSF applications are due on Tuesday the 21st. Make sure to get them in on time to stay in the club. Turn in applications to Mr. Sweet or Mr. Vigneault in the Counseling Office.


Drama ProductionDo you love a challenge? A mystery? An escape room? It’s finally here, the BHS Drama Department’s spring production of “A Night at Hogwarts”. Absolutely no prior experience is needed to help guide an audience through “A Night at Hogwarts” as one of the many extraordinary characters and creatures of the Harry Potter universe come to life. Become a teacher or Death Eater or even a fantastic beast! Please come join us in auditioning January 21, 22, and 23 from 3-5pm in N-51! Both students and teachers are encouraged to audition. This isn’t something you will want to miss!


National Honors Society – We will be having a meeting today, Friday, January 17 at lunch in J-3. Come join us to plan fun events for our community! We hope to see you there!


Cluster of Hope – Today, Friday the 17th, Cluster of Hope will be meeting during lunch in Mrs. Gilbert’s room, I-5. Free lunch provided!


Key Club – Key club meets on Tuesdays at lunch in K-4, Mr. Zhang’s room. Come check out all the fun! The annual Pie-a-Teacher is coming up on January 31 at lunch. Come out to Pie a Teacher!


Free Chess Tournament – Our fifth chess tournament of the season is this coming Monday (Martin Luther King Monday holiday), January 20, 2020, at Las Flores Elementary School (720 W. Las Flores Ave). Registration starts at 8:30am, play begins around 9:00am, and awards are distributed around 12:30pm. Everyone gets to compete in every round, and everyone gets an award (trophies, gift cards, or medals). For more information contact Mr. Morgan at .


Gymnastics Meeting – There is a Gymnastics meeting this Tuesday, January 21 at the beginning of lunch in N-52. Anyone interested can pick-up paperwork in the Athletics office in advance. 


Interesting Fact – If you toss onions in the freezer 15 minutes before you cut them you won’t tear up.
