BULLETIN 09/10/2021

Thanks to everyone who participated in today’s spirit day! It was great to see all the red, white and blue and American pride!

Attention All Students:  The Academic Learning Lounge, which is held at lunch in room K-2 will be closed today, September 10.

School Pictures – Please pick up your school pictures at the Event Windows at lunch today.

Parking Spots for Sale – Do you have a car and want your very own parking spot?  If you answered “yes” to both of these, come to Ms. Larson’s room in P2 at lunch today through Friday to purchase a parking spot!  It only takes $40 to reserve your very own spot for the year.

Student Parking Permits – You must have a parking permit by Monday, September 13.  Make sure you get the parking permit application from the Finance office, fill it out, have your parent sign it and then return it to the Finance office along with your driver’s license and student ID, then you will receive a parking permit.

ASVAB Test - Are you thinking about the military after school?  If so, you should sign up and take the ASVAB test on September 29, 2021.  This test helps you determine your strengths and weaknesses, and helps you determine what jobs and careers are available to you in all the branches of the United States military.  Seniors and juniors should take this test if you are even remotely considering the military after high school.  Sign up in the counseling center in the administration building.  Sign-ups are going on now through September 17th.

GSA Club – Are you interested in creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ students, making friends and getting involved?  GSA is the club for you!  Come to the Gender Sexuality Alliance Club meeting today at lunch in room L33, Mr. Grogman’s room.

Drama Club – Today at 12:10pm in PPAC 5 we are electing officers and planning our first event.

Interact Club – Interact Club is a group of passionate students who want to make a change in the community and at school!  Some of the fun events Interact participates in are soup kitchens, community service, and donating to charities around the world!  Come join the fun today and every Tuesday at the beginning of lunch in room M-41!

Rachel’s Challenge – Hopefully you are challenging yourself every week to do an act of kindness.  This week we are asking you to say something nice to someone you don’t really know.

Fun Fact – Our American flag was designed by a 17-year-old, Robert Heft.  It was a high school project in which his teacher gave him a B-, but went on to update the grade to an A after he submitted his design to the White House, eventually leading to a call from President Eisenhower that it had been selected as the official U.S. flag.

Happy Birthday – Ryan Christopher Rael, Estrella Ruiz-Zamorano, Skyler Gillette, Kaitlyn Klamt, Johnny Maduena, Shelby Marten, Makenzey Seals, Eissa Sukar, Tatiana Wolsiffer, Eleanor Gervais, Devin Hamilton, Annaleze Krikac, Lorilei Rosario Crawford, and Ashton Trevino.
