Burroughs beloved mascot was recently named one of California's top high school mascots by the Aceable.com website.
The Burroughs burro earned an impressive sixteenth place among all California mascots by the company.
On its website, Aceable said that it had chosen the winners from among 4,495 institutions. Mascots were ranked by originality, creativity and historical significance.
“We love word play, so we're thrilled by this Burroughs Burros homophone,” explained the site. “To anyone who says a Burro isn't a tough mascot: Ever heard the saying "kick like a mule?" Steer clear of this steed.”
Top honors were earned by the Ugly Eagles of Clayton Valley Charter School in Concord.
