Expectations:

The student will be responsible for taking care of the Chromebook at all times and will be required to charge the Chromebook every night and bring the fully charged Chromebook with them to school every day.  Students will receive their assigned Chromebook during the first weeks of the school year. Detailed expectations are outlined in the Device Agreement that each student and parent will be required to sign before receiving the Chromebook.

Any assigned Chromebook and accessories that are lost, negligently cared for, or intentionally damaged is the responsibility of the student and parent involved in the loss of property.  The District has secured an affordable insurance option that will cover the Chromebook your child will be using this year for 7th - 12th grade. School Device Coverage provides an insurance option that protects the Chromebook against accidental damage, cracked screens, liquid damage, fire, flood, loss, theft, natural disasters and power surges.

The insurance premium for the 2025-2026 school year is:

• $57.00 per Chromebook or

• $67.00 per Chromebook with Charger

In situations where insurance has not been purchased for a Chromebook that is damaged or lost, students will be given a loaner device for use at school until the replacement, or repair cost of the lost/damaged device is paid to the school.

Potential Fines that could be assessed for lost/damaged Chromebook devices 

• Full Chromebook Replacement approximately $480.00

• Cracked Screen Repair approximately $70

• Missing Keys Repair approximately $60

• Touch Pad Repair approximately $60

• Cracked/Broken Chromebook Body Repair approximately $70

• Broken Hinge Repair approximately $40

• Replace Battery approximately $70

• Charger Replacement approximately $30

• Hard Shell Case Replacement approximately $40

Buying insurance for the Chromebooks is optional, but strongly encouraged.  Parents of 7th - 12th graders who wish to take advantage of this opportunity will need to sign up directly with School Device Coverage through their web portal located at: School Device Coverage

Insurance is offered for 7th - 12th grade devices.

Coverage must be purchased within 30 days of receiving the device.
