Thank you for taking a few moments to learn about B Mountain Foundation and how it has helped the students and staff of Burroughs High School meet their educational goals.
B Mountain Foundation Inc. was founded as a non-profit foundation in 1992. Since then, we have awarded more than $100,000 in grants to classroom teachers and staff. Our mission is to directly support students in the classroom by awarding grants to teachers and support staff to implement curriculum-enhancing programs that have included lab materials, field trips, counseling programs, supplies, books, technology, and audio-visual equipment. All departments on campus have benefited from these grants, including the fine arts, vocational education, foreign language, physical education, and our core areas in math, science, social studies and English.
In 2015, Sherman E. Burroughs was awarded the prestigious California Gold Ribbon School and Exemplary Visual and Performing Arts awards . As with our 2011 California Distinguished School and Exemplary Career Technical Education recognition, these honors are attributable in part to the innovative programs and initiatives that the B Mountain Foundation is able to fund. We have been able to be successful by drawing upon the support of the entire Burroughs family: local community members and businesses, past and present Burroughs staff and teachers, and our alumni community.
